New Day, New ID by HabitualFlippancy New Day, New ID by HabitualFlippancy
I really wanted to get some decent shots of this outfit, but to no avail. Maybe I'll do another photoshoot someday. I'll post a few more like this over on my photo account when I get the motivation. For now this ID is just an excuse to show off my babies. My top hat and corset. I would dress like this 24/7 if I could get away with it.

Ah! Beaver fur, isn't it? I've got a felt one myself, but it's not very rugged.

Why can't you dress like that everyday? I can understand why not to work, but that shouldn't deter you from doing so in your leisure time. I dress like that for school, and the only problem with it is people think I'm loony, which is hardly a bother.

Beaver, yup yup. It's not very rugged either. It's like over 100 years old and it shows. I really want a sturdier one. I'm not complaining though, that hat is my baby.

I mainy can't dress like that because it's not very practical. It's either 90 degress or 20 around here. Also, I destroy anything nice I wear so since I don't have the money to replace my nicer pieces, they stay closeted.

I used to dress more dramatically when I was at the first college I went to, then when I went back, hiking to school or biking in a skirt and heels just became unthinkable. I still get gussied up randomly on occasion. I can't stay casual for too long.

So agree that people need to dress classier! People wonder why I'm not into any of the guys at uni....well....I wonder why they *are*. Seriously, they're like the walking unclean.

Butyes, this outfit is OMFGGORGEOUS! O-O  The pose really compliments it too. Ohh the ruffles...the boots....the HAT! Managed to pick up a top hat the other week from a fancy dress store, but it's quite decent
^-^ I'd LOVE to be able to dress Victorian...especially the whole steampunk thing. (Real steampunk, not the scary chav equivilent -_-"" )

It's so hard to look nice when you are going to school (I am taking 3 messy studios) but it's not too hard to do it every once in a while.
But yea, thank you! :)

Now you've got me worried, chav steampunk? *fears*

Heehee yeah. There's a fashion going around calling itself "steampunk", but which is actually just chav burberry clothing, but with a sliiiight Victorian twist.

The blouse oddly enough came from a food pantry. (Go figure) Consider it thrift-store purchess-esq. The corset was a VERY expensive gift from a friend. Fantasia [link] I got mine at a festival, and I waited 5 years for it! (They almost never have much stock on hand.)

Dude, serious. People need to start dressing classy again. Justin Timberlake says he's "bringing sexy back" I'll believe him when he comes on TV in suit and top hat.

Perhaps somebody should specify this to him. i.e. not 'undressed' but 'classy'. He should be told.

Perhaps no-one explained the lyrics he was singing to him, and he thought they meant was bringing a back that was sexy? Who knows. Poor boy. I will find a top-hat for him right now. Corsets! Lace! Everyone!

Good lord yes top hats are crazy expensive. That one is atleast 100 years old and cost 50 bucks, such a deal. It's not exactly falling apart, but I don't wear it much because I am afraid to see it crushed. I want a newer one for Xmas. Hee.

And yes, men totally need to start wearing hats again. I go to the mall and see these dapper little old men in fedoras and swoon. *giggle*
